8 is Enough!

The six of us have known each other since preschool. We went to the same grade school for awhile, but Joy and I transferred to different schools. The six of us met again in high school, we were at same school again, but with different set of friends. We knew each other quite well so if you asked me that time if we could ever be friends I'll say "NO" straight to your face for we have different and extreme personalities except from the fact that we were/are all achievers not only academically but as well as in arts and sports. But aside from that we have nothing in common.

It all started when we were nearing the end of our sophomore year in high school, we began hanging out together because one of our friends (from our own different cliques) are either cousins or started being cool with each other. And because of that we got to know each other better. And what used to be 3 different circles became one, not only that from 6 girls we grew to 8, and Jeyeen's aunt named us "8 is enough". And later did we know that most of our parents were also friends since high school! And as they say the rest is history.

The 8 of us have always been there for each other, for the best times and the worst times of our teenage lives. My friends are really crazy and unpredictable but that made them the best. We were the "cream of the crop" in our batch, and when we work together expect that there will only be two outcomes either the best or the worst! Hahaha! I won't mention here what my friends did to me or the things they made me do. But it wasn't that bad... just enough for me to grow and be ready for the bigger world in college.

We hang out everyday even after school, we used to have a group study but we don't really get to study, we always end up chatting the time away. We have sleepovers and we go shopping together like what most teenagers our age do back then. We go swimming, camping, hiking.. we basically do everything together. We never get tired of our faces. My high school life would be very different if I didn't get the chance to be friends with them.

I decided to blog about them because I recently talked to 2 of them, and after that I found out that I missed them so much. We're hoping to meet up again during the holidays, and hopefully I can make it home this Christmas.

And don't be surprised if my next posts will be about each of them.. I'll try my best to introduce them to you one by one, and hope that I can give them justice on my entries. Ciao.

Friendly Bonding on a Not-So-Friendly Weather

What a weather we had here yesterday, it rained almost the whole day! At times like that I would have cozied on my bed the whole day but I didn't. After I got off from work I went to The Fort to meet with Janny, one of my closest friends in college. We haven't met for more than a year, and we rarely communicate. I found out just about a couple of weeks ago that she's been here for almost six months now and so I felt that I really need to meet her and catch up on things. We're both nocturnal workers so it was easy for us to meet up early on a Saturday morning. We had breakfast at a fast food near her workplace and we had quite a long chat. We catch up with each other's lives as well as our friends' and we were also nostalgic. We talked about the things that we did way back in college, the friends we made (as well as the enemies), and the "issues" we had. Oh, those issues are too many to mention, but for the record Shobe (or Janny) and I never had an issue it was always between us (me and Janny) and other (insecure) people in college! Hahaha!

Anyway, after breakfast we decided to watch a movie at Shang. So we braved the heavy rain and went to Shang. When we got there it was quite early, we waited outside for 10 minutes or so. Then when they have opened we went to see the movie schedules but unfortunately the earliest schedule of the movie we want to watch was 2:30PM but we couldn't wait that late because I still have work come night time and I really need to get some sleep first before going back to work. We decided to watch the movie at Mega, but before we went there we went to Zara because I saw a jacket and a dress that I like just a week ago, unluckily it was sold out! Huh! What a great start! First the movie sched, then the stuff that I really like is sold out. I can imagine how this day would turn to be.

When we got to Mega we checked the sched and glad there was a 1:15PM schedule, and that's the earliest we can get. Since it was still 12 we decided to grab some pizza and pistachio ice cream for lunch and we talked and talked and talked. Did I mention that we did a lot of talking? After that we finally watched the movie. And what we did after watching? We went home! We were both tired and sleepless the night before and I wasn't planning on going to work the following night without getting some sleep too. Though we were both sleepless, and the weather wasn't so friendly but we had a great six hours together. It was worth the time and effort. I won't trade it for a "good-day-sleep", I only slept for 4 hours and now I'm here at work.

Thank you Shobe, hope that wouldn't be the last but the start of our spending time together again!

Pictorials and Friendships

After a few weeks I just felt the urge to post here anything, I don't know why but I just felt like doing so. It's been more than three weeks since I last posted here. Yeah, I know I shouldn't bother counting the days/weeks because there's probably only three persons who are constantly checking this blog for any update and that would be my dear friends Trish and Joannie, you might be wondering who's the third person who constantly reads this blog... well wonder no more because its me! Who else? If I wouldn't be patronizing my own blog nobody would, right?

I've been busy doing nothing these past weeks... and when I say nothing I mean nothing. All I did was just sleep and sleep and lots of sleep. I really enjoyed bumming around. It's like a privilege to do that knowing the demands of my work(as if). Anyway, I kinda lied... because on the last Friday of June, Sheina and I attended a friend's wedding, which we were late.. very very late. We got there in time for the pictorial! Hah! Good thing we made it there before the reception dinner because it would be so embarrassing. After the dinner, Sheina and I went to have coffee and took some pictures of us, we even took a video of us fooling around Melrose Avenue! And pretending to be friends with Lauren Conrad and Rachel Bilson, and of course there's lashing on Heidi Montag on the side. Hahahaha. Mind you, we were really good at it! It seemed real, minus the "flower girl"! (Shein, you know what I'm talking about) If you've seen us, you'll think we were a couple of drunk girls . I really had fun that night...

Ok fast forward to last Friday >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Shein and I agreed to meet to get our tickets for a Switchfoot concert and to catch a movie after too. My brother came with me and Shein was kinda late because of the heavy traffic jam and so we were late for the 8 o'clock movie we agreed to watch. And because of that, we watched the movie even later. It's not a big deal though if she doesn't have to report to work at 11 o'clock that night but she really have to. So before the movie came to it's end we already went out of the cinema with the hopes of getting her on time for work, but since my brother tagged along with us and the mall was not so crowded anymore because it's about to close we felt that it's time for us to have our "paparazzi" snaps. So we/I asked my brother to take our pictures as if we were celebrities and him... paparazzi of course! Hahaha.. I know we're pathetic and we need to get a life, but what can we do? We just love our pictures taken and the illusion of having paparazzi coming after us to take our pictures is a major plus points!!!!! It's not everyday that you have the mall by yourself... and it's not everyday that you feel that you're some kind of a celebrity, right? So after all the pictorials.... Shein was even more late for work.

When we got out of the mall we hailed a cab and went straight to our office. During the cab ride we were already weaving up a story to cover for her tardiness. And we came up with this:

When the cab stopped at our office's building, I went straight to our office but Shein went to the nearest convenience store to buy herself a drink and some time. When I arrived at our office I was asked by our supervisor why was I in the office since it's my rest day. I answered that Shein called me the last minute and ask me to fill in for her 'coz she isn't sure if she'll be able to get to work. And I think my supervisor bought it because he also told me that he called Shein and she said that she's already on her way. I acted like I was relieved to hear him say those. After about 15 minutes Shein arrived, hurrying to her post and was asking for apology for being late and for asking me to fill for her, she said that she wasn't really feeling well because she didn't get enough sleep because she went home very late that morning due to tons of work in the office. We really think our supervisor bought our story. After about an hour of staying in the office I also left for home to get some sleep. We're sneaky huh! That's one of the simple things I would do to help a friend, I know Shein will also do the same for me.

Satur-Night-Out

Last Saturday Shein, K'Anne, Kuya Red and I agreed to have quality time together, to unwind from everything that we've been doing. Our meeting place was at NBS in Robinson's Pioneer. No one was late that afternoon, it was the first time that we were all early! Maybe it's because we were really excited to see each other because it was more than a couple of months since we've last seen each other, except for Shein and me because we work at the same place so we're like sick of our faces. Hahaha Just kidding, we'll never get tired of each other. Anyway, from Pioneer we took a cab to The Block, it was a really long cab ride, super heavy traffic jam! But it was ok with us, we have more than enough time to talk.

When we got offf at The Block, we went on finding Cerealicious. When we finally located it, we thought that it's best to have dinner first, and Cerealicious will just be a place for dessert. We searched for restaurants and we didn't expect to find Jatujak there, it is a Thai resto. We quickly decided to have our dinner there. We were really noisy, as in super kulitan! The food's great as in really great! I love the tom yum, it was sinigang-like but with a twist, it has a tangy flavor that makes it different and special, I also love the spring roll I just forgot what it's called, and the bagoong rice and pandan chicken... so yummy, and of course the Thai iced tea is the best! Our dinner was super duper extra special.... great food+great people = great time! We were almost done with our dinner so I called the waitress for bill out, so she went to our table and started clearing our table. She took my plate, then K'Anne's. Suddenly K'Anne beamed (screamed) "Hindi pa po ako tapos!", the waitress was surely shocked and we were all laughing out loud! :)) K'Anne explained that she wasn't finished yet, and added that she was saving the best (part) for last. If the waitress really took her plate, she said she would cry, as in she wasn't kidding!

After dinner we decided not to have dessert right away because we were so full. We jsut went to World of Fun at the main mall and played the piso game. We spent almost 400 pesos while playing it, and we had 846 tickets! Yey! We exchanged it for four coin purses and 5 lollipops. After WOF, we went to Cerealicious for our dessert. I had Nerd of the Rings (milkshake, mango bits, fruit loops and nerds), K'Anne had Nutting Hill (milkshake, different nuts and i forgot the kind of cereal), Shein had Apple-O 13 (milkshake, apple slices, cinammon..), and Kuya red had Mint Joe Black(milkshake, oreo, mint..) and all our cereals were topped with a scoop of ice cream.

We went to find ATM after our dessert and we were thinking about our next stop, since we didn't have an itinerary because it was a come-what-may day for us. We agreed then to go to The Loop, but instead of going there we ended up at the House of Big Brother because iwe saw a large crowd there... so we went with the flow and watched the eviction night. After some sneak peeks we went to Starbucks at ELJ bldg. to pee. Hehehe. Then went walking around the compound. We were supposed to get in at Esquinita, but changed our minds since it was already late and Shein need to attend church at 5:30AM the following day. We walked her to the bus stop and waited till she can get a ride home. When Shein went home we decided to continue the night at Off the Grill in Timog.

Kuya Red, K'Anne and I headed to Timog. There was a live band performing there and I must say their keyboardist is really hot! We ordered some onion rings, french fries, a bucket of booze for kuya Red and me and Pina colada cocktail for K'Anne. We left the place at around 3AM. We took a cab to Malabon (K'Anne's Place) pero madaya kami kasi K'Anne told us that we tell the driver that we're off to Malabon he won't take us, so we just told manong that we heading for Kalookan, pumayag naman sya. When we got in Kalookan nagdrama na kami:

Me: K'Anne super late na hatid ka nalang namin sa inyo...
Kuya Red: At antok na din ako pwede ba kami makitulog muna sa inyo sandali?
K'Anne: Ok, sge. Manong, pwede po ba diretso nalang tayo sa Malabon sa Sangandaan?

The manong can do nothing since our reason is "reasonable" enough. Hehehe

We arrived at K'Anne's at half past three, we were like sneaking in to their house. We don't want to wake her parents up so that they won't know that we got there late... uhmm i mean early in the morning already. We slept at their sala kasi ginagawa ang kwarto ni K'Anne. When we lay down, kuya Red went straight to dreamland but K'Anne and I talked till 5AM. We woke up at 6AM, but K'Anne told us that we should just sleep and leave after breakfast so that she can introduced us to her parents and it won't seem like snucking in and out of their house.

When we woke up at 7AM, K'Anne prepared breakfast for us. para kaming konsensya nya kasi buntot kami ng buntot kahit saan man sya magpunta, takot kami na i-interrogate ng parents nya! Hahaha! Buti nalang at ok naman yung parents nya. After we had our breakfast, uwian na kami ni Kuya Red, hinatid kami ni K'Anne hanggang sakayan. At muntik pa kami maligaw kasi nakalimutan ni kuya Red yung daan! hehehehe Pero buti nalang nakarating naman kami sa mga bahay namin ng walang masamang nangyari.

Sistahs and brotha thanks for our Saturnight out... "Sana maulit muli"... kailan pa kaya ulit? After na siguro ng exams ni K'Anne.

More pics on my

The Best That I Will Never Have

I've been waiting for the time that my emotions will explode so that I could pick up the pieces and put them into writing. I've been trying to write something about this but I wasn't ready then and now I think is the right time. This is about a friend, a very dear friend actually. I met her when I was in my 3rd year in college, she was 23 or 24 then I'm not really sure and I was 18. She was supposedly my GE instructress when I transferred from MSU-IIT, but since all my minor subjects were credited , I was advised not take GE course anymore. We came from the same school (MSU-IIT), she graduated there and I have spent my first 2 years in college at that university too.

One day we had a small talk, we talked about our life and experiences in the university, and the people that we both know from there and anything under the sun. And based on our pep talk I can say that she's an intellectual person. And eventually, we became friends. We're alike yet so different in so many ways. We were like the North and the South poles, but we jived really well. We get pretty good conversations each day. We can talk sense, that sometimes we argue and often times we talk about the craziest things, stuff like having a cheetah as a means of transportation, seating on a giraffe's head to fix electrical posts, mixing lotion and toothpaste to substitute for a massage oil.

I know everything about her, her dreams and frustrations from childhood to present, and she also knew almost everything about me. We were very close. We travel together, we eat our meals together and we even sleep at each other's place. We were inseparable. She sees me as her little sister and I see her as the big sister that I never had. She need not tell me about her major heartaches because i was there when it happened. I witnessed everything. There was also a time that I played cupid for her. I was there everytime she and her so-called boyfriend meets up. and witnessed everything (literally), though i played asleep sometimes hehehe, but often times they get me drunk so that they can have their private time, but they don't have to force me, I chose to be drunk than be awake and feel out of place. She even swore that I'll be the first one to know if something big happens to her life like getiing married or having a baby. I clinged to that promise, because i trust her that much. During the 2nd semester of my last year in college she decided to leave her job and pursue with her master's degree. We still communicate, at first we call and text each other everyday (thanks to Sun cellular), then it became once a week, then once a month to once in a blue moon. We just send each other messages during special occasions like Christmas and new year.

Then last year, I was surprised because she sent me an instant message through YM and told me that she's pregnant, I wasn't that shocked 'coz i know that she have a boyfriend but still I was concern about her, about her family's reaction. I'm also flattered because she said I was the first one to know about her situation aside from her boyfriend. But after that we didn't communicate again, I just heard from a friend that she already told her parents about it and they understood her situation. I was happy for her when I heard that, who wouldn't be, right? Anyway, it doesn't end there.. You think I'm only writing this for that? Of course not! There's more to the story... that really hurt me...

Last April I went home to our province when I visited one of our common friends she told me that my dear friend already got married. That time I was shocked.. really! It hurt me big time! I was lost for a while when I heard the news. I tried to justify her for not telling me but I can't find any reason why she didn't. She even told me her darkest secrets before but this marrying thing? I felt like I was betrayed. On that very day my friends forced me to pay her a visit, I submitted but I wasn't excited anymore to see her coz seeing her just hurts me even more. I really felt rejected.

Haaaay, I have learned my lesson well... I think its not good to be really 'attached' to a thing or person, 'coz it would be very hard letting them go and accepting the sad fact that they can't be with you, and never will be. Belle, you're the best friend that i will never have. :-(

But still I wish her and her family all the best this world can offer. And I know that she'll be a good mother to her daughter/son. Special thanks to Adel and mommy Sweet who comforted me, they really made me feel better. Kudos to you dear friends. Thanks a lot I really appreciate what you did for me. :-)

Ok, so much of these mushy endings... from now on I would write stories about some person's who touched my life and who contributed to what I am now.
