Happy Birthday!

Today's my birthday and I've been looking forward to this day for months. Not because I get to have presents, but I'm actually looking forward about getting older. Don't ask me why because I'm also asking myself the same question. Believe me this is only the third time that I got really excited for my birthday, not counting of course the birthdays I had before my teenage years. Those birthday parties were tantrums induced and I was always on sugar high and was being a nosy brat.

Anyway, the first time that I got this excited for my birthday was when I turned 18. Who doesn't? Every teenager dreams of turning 18, and every eighteen year old thinks that when you're 18 you can do anything. Including but not limited to: 1) legally get drunk 2) watch R18 movies unaccompanied 3) get married but with parents' consent 5) get a driver's license 6) get a job 7) but also do time in jail if you do anything stupid or heinous as juvy is no longer for you "GROWN-UP". Sounds interesting, right?

The second time was when I turned 21. It was like graduating from being a probationary adult to a full-fledged grown-up. Being 21 is just like turning 18 but with full benefits! You can now get married without your parents' consent. Not like we planned on getting hitched before 21, but who knows right? You might be walking in the street one day and you bump into a really hot guy and for some reasons he asks you to marry him. It'll be awkward if you go on like this "yes, I'll marry you but can we please go to my parents' and ask them if they'll let me?" but if you're already 21 you can automatically say yes with an exclamation point and a smiley. Hahaha! Not so grown up if you ask me, but see my point?

Those two birthdays are like milestones, rite of passage but being at this age (I won't tell, it's for you to figure out) I can't find a reason what I'm so excited about. But who cares, I'm excited and happy that's what matters to me.

Happy birthday to me! And also to my buds Conan O'Brien and America Ferrera. *wishful thinking

PS I just came from a graveyard shift when the pic was taken and I haven't slept at all.
