Baby and Friends

My closest buds here in the office are teasing me, they say that they would like to see the day when I have my first baby.

And while watching one of my fave TV shows, their conversation kind of remind me of my office buds.

Monica: He hates me! My nephew hates me! What if my own baby hates me? What am I gonna do then?

Chandler: Monica, will you stop? This is nuts! Do you know how long it's gonna be before you actually have to deal with this problem? I mean you don't even have a boyfriend yet.

Ouch but hahaha!

Me watching Friends again. :-)

It's about time

It's not April yet but I already got my first birthday present this year! When I got home from my Cebu trip last Saturday this little canister was waiting for me, it's from my brother. When he handed me the present it was wrapped in a National Bookstore bag, and he asked me to guess and I just couldn't make out what's inside the bag. I was excited and a bit disappointed. I didn't know what to feel, I kept racking my brains of what would be a nice present from National Bookstore that isn't a book, I thought of a pencil case but it's just way too small to fit even half of a pencil. And what will I do of a pencil case if ever it was a pencil case?

I studied the canister and that's when I saw the logo.

I hurriedly opened the canister, I think I almost ripped it off because I got really excited.

It's a watch! If you've met me you'll know that I'm not a watch person, I only wore one when I was in first grade when I just learned how to tell time. I need one to show off to my friends that I am capable of telling time. And when I was in high school when Baby G was a very big hit, and you'll look like a sore looser if you don't own one.

Anyway, my brother is also the same, he don't wear a watch. But he said that it's about time that we started wearing one.

I so love it kuya! The following day I had it fitted to my wrist and started wearing it.

C for Cebu

Hey everyone, summer's here, or is it? Summer or not I already had my little summer getaway. Though it didn't turn out the way I planned but it's still so worth it. I went to Cebu last week to bring my friend's stuff, I was sort of like the FedEx guy, only I stayed a little longer, ate the recipient's food and slept on her bed for a few nights. Haha. Did I mention that she also paid for my airfare? Lucky me! But thinking about it now, and you reading further you'll know that I'm not that lucky.

Anyway, my trip started on the wrong foot. I was certain I booked a 9PM flight to Cebu, but just a few days before my trip I found out that I booked a 4AM flight. If I didn't check it when I did I could have missed my flight and just stayed home, sulking in my room for 5 days for being utterly stupid. Anyway, I got to Cebu earlier than I've planned but it's all good. I spent my first day in Cebu in bed, sleeping. The only time I got out of bed was when I had to pee and when my friend dragged me out of bed to have dinner out. The second day I went to meet my father's brother and his family, they are all so warm, I love them! I got to meet my 2 cousins again and I got to meet their youngest for the first time. My cousin and my aunt showed me around the city.

The third day we were supposed to head to Bantayan island. But Cebu's weather wasn't so cooperative, it rained almost everyday that I was there, except for the first day when all I did was sleep. Anyway, so my beach-y plan was cancelled. But it's still ok, I had a great time with friends from home, and from college. Also I got to meet 2 new friends: Alexa a fashion blogger from Cebu and Hadie, my brother. Seriously, he's my friend's nephew but he's like my friend's son, and that same friend was and still my 'mom' from way back in college. Do I make sense to you?

If you ask me what I really did in Cebu, there're only two words: sleep and eat. It was a getaway for the lazies, hey that's me! Well, I think most of my trips are just spent sleeping in in hotels, my family and friends can attest to that.  And you don't even have to bribe them for them to spill that. That's just my kind of vacation. But sometimes I think that I'm being so overly lazy, I spend most of my weekends sleeping and when I take a break away from work, sleeping is still what I do.

If I had to rate my Cebu trip from 1 - 5, 5 as the highest I'd give it a 5! It was perfect the way it was. And if you ask me what I like and didn't like about Cebu, I'd say it's food and food. I like the food because it's so yummy (just the thought of it makes me drool now) and very inexpensive. And it's also the thing that I don't like about Cebu, because the food is really good and inexpensive you tend to forget about your diet and just give in to your tummy's desire. And all your hard work and discipline just go down the drain. But it's all so worth it.

I'll see you again Cebu, soon I hope.

I'll upload the pics soon, I misplaced my data cable and card reader is busted. :-)

Nikita

I have a new addiction. No it's not drugs. It's a not so new TV series called Nikita. I've seen the plugs of this show a thousand times while I watch my other teen drama addiction (Gossip Girl), I've been meaning to watch this show since it started late last year. But I didn't get to until just a week ago.

What I love about this show is that it's not a typical CW series. Yes, I watched almost all shows at CW, it's either I'm addicted to the network or I just have too much time to kill. Anyway, it's a kick-ass series, literally. The lead characters get to kick asses on a daily basis. Plus, the main character is a gorgeous woman, Maggie Q. And yes, she's one of my girl crushes, I'm even jealous that Lyndsy Fonseca who plays Alex gets to work with her. Hahaha! I'm such a typical fan. Don't get me wrong I don't hate Lyndsy, in fact I like her. I'm just plain jealous. She gets to work not just with Maggie but also my biggest high school crush Shane West. Who could ever forget Landon Carter from A Walk To Remember?

The plot of the series is easy to follow, I think. Nikita was an agent of Division, a secret organization of the US government, so secret that you think they don;t exist. Yet they are very powerful, that they think they're gods who are capable of taking a life in a push of a button. Literally. I don't want to give some spoilers, just watch the show and you'll know why.

The gorgeous Maggie Q as Nikita

I just can't help myself but post 2 pictures of her. :-)

Lyndsey Fonseca as Alex

Shane West as Michael ♥

Ashton Holmes as Thom (too bad they killed him)

And Devon Sawa (remember Casper?) as one of Division's guardians

Also Melinda Clarke or better known as Julie Cooper from The OC also stars here. She's still a bitch, but she's the bitch that I love. Hahaha.

I'm just a little sad that I already finished all the 16 episodes and now CW series have all gone on a hiatus till next month. And you know how I feel about waiting. Anyway, guess I have no choice but to be patient.

Watch the pilot episode and you'll get hooked! Don't say I didn't warn you. :-)

Katie for Kamiseta

It's been weeks since I had my last post. I know I promised to blog often but again and again I fail. I suck. I know. I haven't been busy with anything, just the usual home-work-home routine. And because of that, there's nothing bloggable, everyday is just the same. Uneventful. And to prove that, I even have the same playlist playing for a week now, just 3 songs playing on the loop. In case you ask, these 3 songs are 1) I Won't Give Up by Jana Kramer 2) Broken Strings by James Morison and Nelly Furtado and 3) Only One by Alex Band. I know what you're all thinking "GET A LIFE". And just so you know, I AM TRYING TO! I just get sidetracked sometimes, by my bed. And you know how hard that is. Right?

Anyway, I was bloghopping today and I found that Katie Holmes is the new face of Kamiseta. I've been a fan of the clothing line way before Alicia Silverstone became their endorser, so I was intrigued. I saw the photos and I must say that they made a good job making Katie look fresh and younger, much like her character Joey Potter on the defunct show Dawson's Creek. I know you don't live under a rock if you're reading my blog now, so I'm assuming that you've seen the way Katie dresses up, she's a high end fashionista, she's got a real expensive closet, a walk-in closet or house for that matter. And her daughter Suri's got 100x more expensive closet than I or most of us do. So I really am intrigued why she accepted the job, it's not like she's short on money because SHE'S TOM CRUISE'S EFFING WIFE!!! No, I'm not yelling, just trying to make a point here.

I'm too tired to think of reasons why she accepted the stint, so I'll just post the pictures.

And FYI I like the shots. So unlike Katie the uptight, alpha female dresser.
