If being in my pajamas by 7PM is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

After over two weeks of being MIA, one may think that I've been very busy. A friend thought that I migrated somewhere, like the moon maybe because I was out of reach. Another friend also thought that I've joined the army (like that's possible), and another thought that I might have went on a mission somewhere in the Amazonian Jungle. After my friends told me about their theories, only 1 thing came to my mind: I have crazy friends with crazy imaginations!

I wasn't busy, at all. In fact, I've finally done what I've been thinking of doing for the past three years... I've finally quit my job! I wasn't so sure about my decision at first but after hearing my mom, brother and few close friends' comments I think it was the best decision I've ever made in my adult life. As of recent times, I did everything that I haven't done since the summers of my high school life. Which is staying at home all day,  sleeping in till noon, watching TV till dawn, eat to my heart's content, read all the books that I've accumulated since Christmas last year. (Actually, the bookworms have beaten me to perusing some of those books.)

As of now, I'm pretending to be busying myself applying to jobs online, but also secretly wishing they wouldn't call me till the end of June so that I'll still have time doing the things I've mentioned above. I'm loving being a professional bum even just for a few weeks. It's one thing off my bucket list.

I'll just savor this downtime while I can. Till we meet again alarm clock, and metro traffic. Till my next update, hopefully with good news. And by good news I mean: new job that I actually love.

Birthday Wishlist

It's one of the happiest days of the year. It's not yet Christmas, silly. But it could be Christmas in April. For me though, because it's my birthday! It's the day that started all THIS, whatever THIS could/might be. So bring out the booze, banners and the pinata! Wait, am I too old for pinatas? I don't think so. No one who eats coco pops for breakfast, lunch and dinner is ever too old for pinatas.

Anyway, since it's my birthday I think I'm entitled to make my own wishlist. No, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to give me presents based on my wishlist, if that were the case I would have registered, it would be way easier for me and you. But if you insist in giving me something off my list, then who am I to complain? But I warn you this list is not also limited to only realistic wishes, this list could range from shallow, bizarre, outrageous to over-the-top impossible. But who knows, I might be able to tick each wish off the list, someday. Maybe eons from now, when I've perfected the art of time and space traveling.

So here goes my wishlist:

• Travel to India, specifically Shimla before my next birthday. (This maybe the most realistic wish so far, and it's perfectly under way)
• Visit at least 5 places this year that I've never been to.
• Learn how to swim. Titanic's been re-released in effing 3D after 15 years and I still don't know how to swim!
• Learn to speak Hindi, (sorry Lexi I prefer Hindi over Italian) so that I will be able to watch Bollywood movies without subtitles. Ha! Who's the boss now?
• Invent or have someone invent the mobile phone with washing machine. I'll never loathe doing the laundry ever again!
• Close Saks Fifth Ave from the public for a day so I can do my private shopping. It's better and more realistic than cordoning Rodeo Drive, isn't it?
• Be a rock star for a month. Let's not be hypocrite here, who wants to be a rock star for only a day? If I could have it my way, I want to be one for at least 6 months so I can have a world tour. But for now, a month is enough.
• Date Cary Grant, I know what you think... He's dead. But hey, I am learning to time travel. Give me time. Give me a lot of time. If not, then there's always Ryan Gosling who's very much alive.

Personal Issues

I just posted a blog entry yesterday entitled Daddy Issues for Dummies and now I think I’m going to need that book myself ASAP. Just when I thought I’m over those days, the universe thought that “hey, Ann might be over her daddy issues, let’s rock the boat a little to get some (re)action from her”. Honestly, I haven’t thought about him for quite some time now. Not that I don’t care or anything, but I just accepted the fact, the fact that our family dynamics are out of rails.

One might think that what triggered my issues to re-surface is the blog entry that I wrote yesterday. No, it isn’t the factor, not at all. But instead, it’s all because of Facebook! I still have this love-hate relationship with Facebook, so far hate is winning. Anyway, his update appeared on my newsfeed. He uploaded prom pictures of my half-sister, and even posted some witty yet sweet captions/comments. I don’t want to sugarcoat what I truly felt (still feel) to appear tough or whatsoever. I totally felt (still feel) jealous of her. So jealous, because I know I’ll never experience that moment with him, not ever. I’m an independent girl, I can fend and stand for myself. But that update was just too much, it melted the tin thingy that sits inside my ribcage and I lost all the faux strength that I’ve been trying to project half my life. I’m falling to pieces. This is even worse than my first real break-up.

My mom taught me and my brother well. She always taught us to be the bigger person in every situation, but in this situation I don’t think I can hold it any longer. I don’t want to be the bigger person anymore, I want to let loose the brat in me and type my rant in the comment. But I supposed I’ll find the strength to keep my composure, and again be the tough girl that I always project myself to be. I’ll continue being the bigger person and just rant here in my little blog where no one reads but me.
