Movies Moved Me!

I finally watched Slumdog Millionaire and I can say that Slumdog is a great movie. To tell you the truth, while I was watching the Oscar's I was praying that Benjamin Button will win the Best Picture but when it didn't I was kind of disappointed so to prove myself wrong that maybe Slumdog deserves to win the Best Picture award I watched the movie.

After watching the movie I can finally agree with the Academy, I can tell a lot of good things about the movie, but sometimes I think that Slumdog is more like August Rush, the protagonist (Jamal) is either his life is just so full of coincidences or he's just plain lucky. Imagine the things he'd been through as well as Latika and yet they still find their way to each other. And the journey to each other's arms is just to tragic for me, it seemed like the universe conspired to break them apart since day 1, but at least the movie had a happy ending, right? Is dancing with "your destiny" on the train station considered a happy ending? I really hope so.

So if you want to watch an award worthy film, watch this movie. The next movie that I'll be watching later will be The Reader, I heard it's a great film too. Sad that I can't say the same for Revolutionary Road, the plot is just too complicated for me but the acting is really superb! Leo and Kate are more than great in this film. I cried with both of them, and Kate left me wondering what the h*ll could be possibly wrong with her, her character is tad complicated and problematic, one minute I thought she was having this psychological disorder. It's one of those movies that has a dark ending, or not so dark. Though I didn't like the plot of the movie, the actors and the acting is worth watching.

New Year Update

It's been a year since the last time I was here. Yeah, it's already 2009 so there. I wouldn't dish about how I spent the holidays because I can't really remember all the details because I was either asleep or drunk! Just kidding (although partially true). But I'm certain of one thing... it was one of the best holidays of my life, I swear!

Anyway, I already got back to work a week ago but it's just now that I felt updating this blog since it's really outdated. This year I won't make any resolutions because I am also certain that I won't be able to live with it for the whole year. SO it just make sense that I just don't make any promises to others and to myself, specially. But new year's resolution aside I am or I will try to be always on time for work. Six working days have gone by and I only had one tardy and it was only a minute! Woohooo! I am doing great so far. I am also trying my best to stay fit and healthy so now for lunch break I am only going to have 2 packets of soda crackers and water. I think I still sounded like making my new year's resolution... Anyway, it doesn't matter because I didn't sign any contract regarding these.

By the way, I just finished reading
Amy Tan's Saving Fish From Drowning and I like it! It's fun and funny! :) And I just watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button today and it really made me cry. I hate you Brad and Cate you made me cry and look at my eyes now! They are so puffy! I like the screenplay, better than Fitzgerald's short story. The film made me realize that we don't have to judge a person because of his/her decisions because at the moment it might hurt us and feel really bad about life but in the future we'll realized that what we thought a bad decision was a great decision after all.

So there... I hope you'll watch the movie and read the book that I have just watched and read.

Sisterhood and Marciano's

As you all know I've been waiting for the Sisterhood of Traveling Pants 2 movie for like forever. So when it finally opened here in the country I was so excited to watch it. I already read all the books with the same title and I like it so I was really giddy to watch the movie. The fact that it stars the stars of my favorite TV characters, Serena Van Der Woodsen (Gossip Girl), Betty Suarez (Ugly Betty) and Rory Gilmore (Gilmore Girls). It's not like I don't like Amber Tamblyn because I totally dig and like her as Tibby, it's just that she isn't one of my favorite TV characters for the obvious reason that she doesn't have a TV show! Anyway, about the movie. I can't say that I was really thrilled after but I wasn't disappointed either. I should blame myself for reading those books first. I never learned that it would always be better if I watch the movie first before reading the books so that I won't be expecting that much and comparing it with the book after. I should always remember that books and movies are different. You can't fit a 500 something pages book to a 2 hour movie.

Anyway, have I told you that I watched the movie with Sheina? No? Ok, so I watched it with her last Monday. It was sort of a bonding time for us. After watching the movie, we had dinner at Marciano's on Greenbelt 3. The food there is superb! I love Tastes like Barney's salad and Peter Petrelli's grilled chicken is also yummy just like it's namesake! I also love the ambiance, it was so New Yorkish! The black and silver "royalty" chairs as I like to call it and the chandeliers are a big plus! We also had wine, even though I had to go to work after. I intended to blog about it right when I got to work that night, unfortunately I was so sleepy because of the wine and have completely forgotten about it.

Movie Date

Ok, I'm coming out. I really feel the need to watch For The First Time this weekend. Not because of KC, definitely not because of Richard, but because some scenes are shot in Santorini, Greece! MY FAVORITE PLACE ON THE PLANET!!! The island is just so gorgeous, I can't help myself. This time it won't matter who I'm going to watch it with because I just have to watch it, even by myself. That's it. My Santorini craving is really high these days, that's because Sisterhood is not showing until the last week of September and they keep playing the trailer of For The First Time

Wanna watch it with me? :)
over and over again on TV.

Why, Oh Why?

I am so sad Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 is not showing until September 24! That's so disappointing as I've been waiting for this movie for too long. And another thing, I can't join my friends (in the states) in talking about the film as they may give away spoilers and of course because I won't be able to watch the film sooner so basically I have nothing to say. I've been searching for a release date here in the Philippines for this film and I wasn't successful until today. Enchanted

I went to watch Enchanted at the movies last Saturday. It was a nice film. Their idea of mixing animation and 3D is so brilliant! Amy Adams owned the character Giselle in the film, she was really great at playing that character and she have that "fairytale princess" voice. And there's James Marsden (aka Cyclops)... the guy who've never ended up with the girl he wanted in every movie that he starred. And of course there's His Royal Hotness McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey), who played as a lawyer/single father and modern day prince charming to Giselle. I enjoyed watching the movie because I love all Disney fairytales and this movie is like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Little Mermaid and Beauty in the Beast in one. If the movie's a song it'll be like a Disney medley.

I'll leave you with Enchanted's movie trailer and some tracks from the soundtrack album.

Don't Read: Boring!

I really don't have anything to blog about except from the thing that happened to me/us, but I don't want to talk about it now, might get jinxed. So anyway since I don't have other choices might as well blog something that happened yesterday, but seriously if you don't want to fall asleep while or after reading this blog please STOP now but if you want to have a little yawn and some snoring after, carry on. But please don't blame the blogger, I already warned you. Ok, so here goes nothing....

After getting off from work last Saturday, I went to have breakfast with some 'friends' and then met up with friends (notice that there's a BIG difference between 'friends' and friends) at Watering Hole in Shang. Then we went to a bookstore because my friend Jeff wanted to buy a book for his girlfriend and he wants me to suggest or find a good book for her. I am not really an expert when it comes to books but it helps that I read a lot or should I say I read anything that I see that have words plastered on it. And mind you, all my friends love the book that I suggest them to read. After Jeff bought the book we went loitering around the mall. We basically just look around the shops. Then while Jeff went to fetch her girlfriend, Janny and I went to another bookstore and did some reading. I was almost halfway done with the book I'm reading when Janny got a text from Jeff telling us to meet him at the cinema. We went to the cinema and watched The Seeker. The movie wasn't so bad but it wasn't so good either, to say it's just so-so. When the movie ended Janny and I were like "That's it?". The plot is predictable but though it was, there was still a little part of me hoping that it will turn out quite well. But surprise, surprise! It didn't. It was just so-so. Period.

After watching the movie, we went home straight. I need to get some sleep because of work. What else could there be? There's no Saturday night out for me! Just work-ing out.

I just hope my mom won't find out about my malling yesterday, she would be mad at me. Because she was telling me that I shouldn't be going to the mall for a while after the Glorietta 2 explosion last Friday. And there I was, just a day after the explosion. Sorry mom, but I think it's safer to go malling after the explosion because there are guards everywhere (with their huge bomb sniffing dogs) and the security is really tight, they're on full red alert, remember? I think I made my point.... so don't you worry mom. And I made it home yesterday without a bruise or a splinter, only numbed feet.

Nancy Drew

Went to the mall yesterday with my brother to catch a movie, and yes that's what we only did. No actual and window shopping, and no book reading/scanning in a book store. We watched Nancy Drew at the Premiere cinema of Shang and there were only 6 of us who came to watch the movie. And it was kinda funny because we were like seated on 2 columns consisting of 3 persons.
our seating arrangement at the cinema

It was I who picked that movie because I used to read Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys when I was little, about 3rd grade maybe. Now it's really obvious how dorky I was, so you don't have to wonder if sometimes the dorky side of me surfaces every once in a while. While watching the movie I was kinda nostalgic, I missed the days when I was a kid pretending to be Nancy Drew and how I lead a bunch of kids my age from our block and "sleuth" around as if there was a mystery to be solved.

As expected it was a teenybopper movie, but with a mystery (It's Nancy Drew remember?). But I still enjoyed watching the film.

Pictorials and Friendships

After a few weeks I just felt the urge to post here anything, I don't know why but I just felt like doing so. It's been more than three weeks since I last posted here. Yeah, I know I shouldn't bother counting the days/weeks because there's probably only three persons who are constantly checking this blog for any update and that would be my dear friends Trish and Joannie, you might be wondering who's the third person who constantly reads this blog... well wonder no more because its me! Who else? If I wouldn't be patronizing my own blog nobody would, right?

I've been busy doing nothing these past weeks... and when I say nothing I mean nothing. All I did was just sleep and sleep and lots of sleep. I really enjoyed bumming around. It's like a privilege to do that knowing the demands of my work(as if). Anyway, I kinda lied... because on the last Friday of June, Sheina and I attended a friend's wedding, which we were late.. very very late. We got there in time for the pictorial! Hah! Good thing we made it there before the reception dinner because it would be so embarrassing. After the dinner, Sheina and I went to have coffee and took some pictures of us, we even took a video of us fooling around Melrose Avenue! And pretending to be friends with Lauren Conrad and Rachel Bilson, and of course there's lashing on Heidi Montag on the side. Hahahaha. Mind you, we were really good at it! It seemed real, minus the "flower girl"! (Shein, you know what I'm talking about) If you've seen us, you'll think we were a couple of drunk girls . I really had fun that night...

Ok fast forward to last Friday >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Shein and I agreed to meet to get our tickets for a Switchfoot concert and to catch a movie after too. My brother came with me and Shein was kinda late because of the heavy traffic jam and so we were late for the 8 o'clock movie we agreed to watch. And because of that, we watched the movie even later. It's not a big deal though if she doesn't have to report to work at 11 o'clock that night but she really have to. So before the movie came to it's end we already went out of the cinema with the hopes of getting her on time for work, but since my brother tagged along with us and the mall was not so crowded anymore because it's about to close we felt that it's time for us to have our "paparazzi" snaps. So we/I asked my brother to take our pictures as if we were celebrities and him... paparazzi of course! Hahaha.. I know we're pathetic and we need to get a life, but what can we do? We just love our pictures taken and the illusion of having paparazzi coming after us to take our pictures is a major plus points!!!!! It's not everyday that you have the mall by yourself... and it's not everyday that you feel that you're some kind of a celebrity, right? So after all the pictorials.... Shein was even more late for work.

When we got out of the mall we hailed a cab and went straight to our office. During the cab ride we were already weaving up a story to cover for her tardiness. And we came up with this:

When the cab stopped at our office's building, I went straight to our office but Shein went to the nearest convenience store to buy herself a drink and some time. When I arrived at our office I was asked by our supervisor why was I in the office since it's my rest day. I answered that Shein called me the last minute and ask me to fill in for her 'coz she isn't sure if she'll be able to get to work. And I think my supervisor bought it because he also told me that he called Shein and she said that she's already on her way. I acted like I was relieved to hear him say those. After about 15 minutes Shein arrived, hurrying to her post and was asking for apology for being late and for asking me to fill for her, she said that she wasn't really feeling well because she didn't get enough sleep because she went home very late that morning due to tons of work in the office. We really think our supervisor bought our story. After about an hour of staying in the office I also left for home to get some sleep. We're sneaky huh! That's one of the simple things I would do to help a friend, I know Shein will also do the same for me.

Cine! Cine!

I just watched Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix today. I can't say if it's really good because I can't base it on the book since I haven't read it yet, but I'm planning to. They've all grown before our eyes... I can still remember the first Harry Potter movie and they look so tiny and cute... now they're even cuter, even gorgeous and hot but they're not teeny anymore. I think they're even taller than me!

I don't want to spoil the movie for you out there who haven't watch it yet. So, I won't be writing here any review or summary of the movie. But there's a line that I really love!

When Hermione explained/described to Harry and Ron about Cho's feelings and Ron exclaimed "She can all feel that?" and Hermione replied to Ron something like "You don't know that 'coz you have the emotional range of a teaspoon!" Hahaha! Anyway, I need to go offline now, I need to de-clutter my closet.

May you all have a great time watching the movie or just have a good day for those who don't intend to watch the movie.

(I also watched Transformers last week. It was really great! Although I haven't watch any episode of the Transformers series I still enjoyed the movie. No need to have any Transformers background... everything you need to know is explained.)

Way Back Into Love

My current LSS...
I love this song, and the movie as well...

Way Back Into Love (demo version)
by Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore

Way Back Into Love
by Hugh Grant and Haley Bennet

I’ve been living with a shadow overhead
I’ve been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
I’ve been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can’t seem to move on

I’ve been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need em again someday
I’ve been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love
Oh oh oh

I’ve been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I’ve been searching but I just don’t see the signs
I know that it’s out there
There’s got to be something for my soul somewhere
I’ve been looking for someone to shed some light
Not just somebody just to get me throught the night
I could use some direction
And I’m open to your suggestions

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart again
I guess I’m hoping you’ll be there for me in the end
There are moments when I don’t know if it’s real
Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration Not just another negotiation

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart to you
I’m hoping you’ll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I’ll be there for you in the end

The Holiday

Yesterday, K'Anne and I picked Sheina up from work. We had late lunch, window shopped a little, watched a movie, had a good cup of coffee (with the purple straw, K'Anne said) and had quite a long talk. We talked about work, since K'Anne and kuya Red left we (Sheina and I)already have thoughts of quitting our current job, but we're not even finding a new one. What a paradox. But we've been referred by some friends and officemates. In fact, I'm torn (not again) between quitting or staying. I already talked to my brother and Sheina and K'Anne and they all have the same answer, "Think about it. But with the offer they're giving... Go!" I'm not really sure what I want this time. I must admit the offer is really tempting, it's twice as much as I'm earning. Sheina also have some plans in mind, she's been referred by her friend to an international company, and she told me that if ever she'll get in she'll refer me too! Wouldn't that be great? I just hope that things will work out for my team if I/we will be leaving, because there'll be only 3 or 2 of them. Schedule is hard that there are 4 of us in the team, it'll get harder for sure! Anyway, my "future employer" wants to have my answer on Monday, honestly until now I'm not yet decided. I'm still waiting for the sign to show up.

Anyway, last night I wasn't able to sleep maybe because my body clock is used to sleeping at day time now or maybe I was overdosed with caffeine. Since I can't sleep I ended up doing a movie marathon. I watched 3 movies! And I also did this... (see paragraphs below :p) Though, I didn't really compose it, but I transcribed it. It's from the movie we watched yesterday, The Holiday. This really struck me... Hope this will have a great impact to you as it did on me.. Read on..

"I've found almost everything ever written about love to be true. Shakespeare said "Journeys end in lovers meeting." What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything remotely close to that, but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had. I suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said "love is blind". Now that is something I know to be true. For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space! Yes, you are looking at one such individual. And I have willingly loved that man for over three miserable years! The absolute worst years of my life! The worst Christmas', the worst Birthday's, New Years Eve's brought in by tears and valium. These years that I have been in love have been the darkest days of my life. All because I've been cursed by being in love with a man who does not and will not love me back. Oh god, just the sight of him! Heart pounding! Throat thickening! Absolutely can't swallow! All the usual symptoms." --Iris (narrating), The Holiday

"Iris, in the movies we have leading ladies and we have the best friend. You, I can tell, are a leading lady, but for some reason you are behaving like the best friend.
Iris: You're so right. You're supposed to be the leading lady of your own life, for god's sake! Arthur, I've been going to a therapist for three years, and she's never explained things to me that well. That was brilliant. Brutal, but brilliant. " --Arthur Abbott, The Holiday

"Shush. You broke my heart. And you acted like somehow it was my fault, my misunderstanding, and I was too in love with you to ever be mad at you, so I just punished myself! For years! But you waltzing in here on my lovely Christmas holiday, and telling me that you don't want to lose me whilst you're about to get MARRIED, somehow newly entitles me to say, it's over. This - This twisted, toxic THING between us, is finally finished! I'm miraculously done being in love with you! Ha! I've got a life to start living."--Iris , The Holiday

“Listen, I know its hard to believe people when they say ‘I know exactly how you feel’, but I actually know how you feel. You see I was … uhm… seeing someone back in London we worked for the same newspaper and then I found out that he was seeing this other girl, Sarah from the circulation department on the 19th floor. Turned out that he was not in love with me like I thought. I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade." --Iris (to Miles), The Holiday

And also last night we talked about our heart's status and since we all worked as database developer/administrator we gave it a little twist. We'll answer it using syntax or procedures of SQL Servers.

"What's your heart's status as of the moment?"

K'Anne: "DELETING ... (paused) pero may BEGIN TRAN and ROLLBACK TRAN!" (Pamatay 'to! DELETING is understandable, BEGIN TRAN is used to do a certain process but putting a ROLLBACK TRAN at the end of your code is like reversing everything you did).

Sheina: "UPDATING/NSERTING" (but K'Anne said that SELECT statement suits her and Sheina agreed but added SELECT DISTINCT)

Me: SLEEPING but... RUNNABLE!

So much of my talking.. I need to focus on my work now. BTW, I'm at work now rendering a RDOT. Anyway, its fine with me.... I 'll have reason to call in sick tomorrow. Hehehe. I'm going to attend my niece's baptism.

Ciao. Hope you'll all have a good Valentine's. I bet I'll have a good one! I'm going solo flight to a spa! Hehehe.

P.S. If you want to watch the film but don't have time to watch it in the movie house I'm giving you these links (but i haven't check if these have good quality though):

The Classic

Today isn't as ordinary as my other days at work. One proof that this isn't like any other day, I wasn't late for work. I arrived just on time, literally on time no more no less. I was really glad that I made it on time today, I didn't even take the cab! But I had no time to celebrate for that achievement... I was also very pressured this morning just as our Aussie campaign started, why? It's because our strata engine today got crazy! It doesn't read the leads that we have loaded. I tried almost everything to get it working but to no avail. I had no choice but to call on our supervisor. Good thing the strategy he suggested worked. I edited the task on the dynacall and voila! It worked! ... I know you think that I'm nuts.. talking about stuff not all people know.. but I just want to let it out. I was really nervous.. tensed.. confused.. I caused an hour of downtime! And come to think of how much money's lost because of that downtime?! Geesh! But my supervisor said that I need not worry because it's really an application problem, and it doesn't have to do with the dialer administrator. Huh! Upon hearing that I was relieved. Thank god!

Anyway, after that... I relaxed myself by listening to the
Princess Hours' OST, I already got a copy of those, my colleague downloaded it for me. (napapaghalata na ba talagang adik na ako dun? hehehe)

And after my soundtrip I watched
The Classic, another Korean movie. Actually, I just finished watching it. And until now my eyes are still sore. I was really trying my best not to cry (I was afraid my officemates would see me) but my tears won over me. Sniff. K'Anne you didn't warn me that that movie was a tearjerker. Sniff. It's a good movie, if you want to fall in love and be sentimental and emotional, or if you want to to cry over something but afraid to let it show watch this movie so you'll have all the reasons in this world to cry.

Here's the synopsis of the movie >>>>>

One more day, and I'm off from work. My rest days are almost here! I can see them waving at me! We're just a night away! Rest days I'm dying to see you ASAP! :p

Anyway, it's getting late... need to go home now and catch up on some
Nick and Disney shows that I love! And it's The OC day today and I almost forgot I need to catch the Incubus concert today on MYX! I'm really hard to spell, right? I watch different kinds of shows... I'm not stereo-typed, and that's what makes me unique!

And FYI, I'm also listening to Hilary Duff's songs now! Hehehehe... Unpredictable(
jologs ba yun?)!

Ciao.

Looking Forward

Woohoo! Veinte más días antes de Navidad! Soy apenas tan feliz! I really can't wait till its christmas, and I also can't wait till our 13th month pay will be released. :D

Anyway, Kuya Red told me before that Bridge to Terabithia is now on film. I checked the trailer earlier and the visual effects are great, because it is by Weta Digital (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) and of course they have Warner Bros. as the producer. I can't wait for this movie to be released. I so love this book by Katherine Patterson.

Happy Feet

We've got the happiest feet last Thursday. First we went to a Call Center Expo at the EDSA Shangrila, the event was 'uneventful' but the food were really great! The salad, steak... and specially the desserts! We all love it! We had our pictorial again. And this time with more people... and most of it were taken inside the ladies' room. Hehehe. So don't be surprised if you'll see tissue papers and all...

After lunch or after the event, we went to EDSA Shang (mall) to watch Happy Feet, we got there at quarter to 1, but the movie already started at 12:40 so we need to wait for the next show, good thing Happy Feet is also shown in Cinema 1 at 1:40 so we bought our tickets right away! After buying our tickets we acompany Kitty near the MRT station for she's going back to work (poor kitty). When we got to the 4th floor, we saw Power Station so we decided to spend some time and dime there. We played the table hockey and we shot some hoops! We took photos and videos of us. We were having a really fun time!

Then when its half past 1 we went off to the cinema, but before that we saw the canopy (whatever you call that) for Happy Feet. We wanted our picture to be taken there, so we asked some manong/kuya to take our pic. Luckily he was kind enough to give in to our whims. So there, we had our picture!

We went straight to the cinema after. It is a very funny family movie! Mumble is just sooo cute... and so is Ramon (i'm starting to love him na nga eh). And the sound effects are so great, as well as the voices of the people behind the animated characters. Kudos Warner Bros.!

Okei, so that's all we did for that day. And take note we were awake since Wednesday afternoon, and we barely slept or napped while we were on the night shift... I just don't know with K'Anne... Hehehehe

LOVEWRECKED

I already watched Lovewrecked last Saturday. It's a feel good movie and it falls under the chick flicks category :) but it's fun! I like the twist of the story.

Here's the synopsis of the movie:

"Lovewrecked tells the story of Jenny (Amanda Bynes), an eighteen year-old girl who is ecstatic when she finds that her favorite rock star, Jason (Chris Carmack), is a guest at the tropical resort where she is working for the summer. When Jason falls off a cruise ship, Jenny dives in to save him, and the two raft their way onto a nearby "desert island" -- actually just a stone's throw from a luxury resort. However, Jenny wants to spend some time alone with Jason, so she lets him continue to believe that they are desperate castaways-- at least for now. Things get even more complicated when Jenny’s rival Alexis (Jamie-Lynn DiScala) pretends to be shipwrecked too, and they both compete for Jason’s affections. When Jenny's plan blows up in her face, her lifelong friend Ryan (Jonathan Bennett) is there to pick up the pieces."

If I were at the same situation with Jenny I'll still choose my bestfriend, Ryan over that rock star, Jason... --don't have enough time to explain :), it's understandable though. :D
