Not as Hard as it Seems

When you are facing a problem no matter how teeny tiny it is we automatically say "Life is Hard", but it isn't always. I tell you if life is really hard you won't have time to enjoy the little things around you, you won't have time for yourself and for sure you won't be reading this post.

I'll tell you what really is HARD.

  1. Taking a sleeping pill and trying to stay awake, it is just as hard as
  2. Drinking Red Bull and trying to get some sleep.
  3. Swallowing and sneezing at the same time (Not that I tried this before but just thinking about it I know that it'll be hard)
  4. Chopping some onions without crying your eyes out. (They say there are ways to prevent eyes from tearing up while chopping. Trust me, I tried every way there is and failed every time.)
  5. Doing what Heidi told Lauren on The Hills on how to get rid of hiccups "drink water upside-down with a pencil in your mouth"
  6. Admitting to quoting Heidi Montag.

If you haven't experienced any of these on a daily basis yet. It's safe to assume that life is not really that hard. It may not always be M&M's and Jelly Beans or whatever it is that makes a person happy, but it is worth living.

Last Friday Night

I heard this song a few months back but it didn't strike me. Recently, I saw the music video of the song and I don't know why but the song is etched on my brain and I know for sure that it'll be there for quite some time.

This song got me thinking, not really the reflective kind of thinking as this song does not really scream reflection, if you already heard the song you know what I mean. What if I wake up on a Saturday morning and I got no recollection of whatever happened the night before? I will be damned! And the only thing that will somehow jog my memory are the pictures from the night before that somehow made their way to Facebook, twitter or wherever. And my family have those apps on their smartphones. Just like what Katy Perry said on the song "I'm screwed".

I'm sure as hell that my phone will be bombarded with text messages and missed calls from my family and I am pretty sure my mom will take the earliest flight out of our province to the metro and knock some sense to my pounding head.

It's not that I dreamed of getting really drunk. But I admit sometimes I wanted to push my alcohol limit so that I would know how would I be when I get soooo drunk. But often times I end up getting cold feet because the still sane and sober part of me rules my almost drunk brain. And I remember this one time that I pushed my limit, the day after I spent it on bed, with my pounding brain, stomach flu and the daylight was piercing my eyes. After that day I swore that I'm never drinking again. But hey, I'm not the one that keeps her new years resolution and you know what that means.

What's your Friday night story?

Dorkerella

- books -

These are some of my books, I have plenty of them. I am a self-confessed bookworm, a dorkerella if you say so. I am and will never be ashamed of being one. When I was a kid I prefer books over toys, I was such a nerd. Still am. I love reading books as they're able to take me to places I've never been and feel emotions I didn't know I am capable of feeling. I am somehow like Ron (Harry Potter), I got the emotional range of a teaspoon.

Jelly Belly for Brekky

- breakfast -

I had a really healthy breakfast today, the breakfast of the champions. Or not. But hey, I had milk so it still healthy, right? But the star of today's breakfast is the box of Jelly Belly! They're my lovelies! :-)

Hottah! Hottah!

- clouds -

Today's a very humid day, been praying for rain for the last couple of days. If only I knew how to do the rain dance I would've danced it. It's a little cloudy but it doesn't change the fact that I am melting! It's scorching hot! Still feels like summer when in fact it's supposed to be the rainy season already. We only have 2 seasons here in my country wet and dry season (3 if you count the "cold" season which is not so cold by the way). They looked like rain clouds but I think they're just pretending to be one because it didn't rain today, at all.

Spider Legs

-Hands-

I'm not being too confident here by telling you that I have pretty hands, believe me I really do. My hands are the envy of many. (Whoah! Did I really just write that?)I often get compliments because of them. Again not being over confident here. See for yourself.

OK the photo didn't really give my hands justice here as you can only see my long fingers looking like thin, spider's legs. But they're still pretty, right? :-)

Writing with a Purpose

I've spent almost my whole shift looking for online writing jobs. So far, I am so far from finding one. I didn't think that it would be this hard. I've been writing, if you consider blogging as writing then I've been writing for over 5 years now. I have no problem writing about anything, everything. Hence, the title of my blogger site Anything, Everything Under the Sun. But I admit sometimes I tend to run out of topic to blog about.

Most of the time my blog is just a word salad, I spew words and I try as I could to mix them into somewhat a decent post. My style of blogging is reflective, I blog about the things that happened, and will happen to me. I also blog about my opinions and observations regarding certain things and that includes my neighbor's cats or my trusty ballet flats. I am a shameless blogger, I blog about even my deepest, darkest secrets. When I come to think of it, they're not so deep nor dark at all but nevertheless.

I've been looking for online writing jobs not because I am jobless, which I'm not. In fact I've been working for over half a decade now. It's just that writing is one of my passions. I am into writing as much as I am into sleeping. And I need to get at least 7 hours of sleep a day, see the picture? And aside from writing being my niche, I heard that they also pay well. A little extra income won't hurt and will come a long way.

So please help me in anyway if you have any idea or a gig for me. I am more than willing.

Eh-Shoes-Me

- favorite shoes -

If I have to pretend that I'm elegant and fab, I'll show you a picture of my "favorite pair". This pair is only my second favorite because they are high heeled and as you know I have this really weak ankles. I average at least 3 ankle injuries a year, so it's really hard for me to walk in these babies for a day. And if I had to, like yesterday, I packed my flipflops with me so I can just slip into them whenever I feel that I've been tortured by my pretty shoes.

But since I try being honest here, I'm going to show you my true favorite shoes, my trusty pair of ballet flats. This pair may be the least expensive among all my shoes, in fact my flipflops are even more expensive than these super comfy flats. But I'm not the person who only wears or have favorites basing on the price alone. I pick favorites based on style and comfort. These flats are my go-to shoes, I love wearing them everyday that's why they look so worn out now.

13 Things I Don't Like #2

I'm only on the 2nd of the 13 things I don't like but I'm already running out of ideas. It's so hard to make a list like this when you like almost everything! At the top of my head the 2nd on my list will be....

#2 Waking up early/or before the alarm goes off

I'm definitely not a morning person! I could stay wide awake all night every night if I had to, but I just can't wake up early. It's a surprise that I still get to work on time when I'm on the morning shift. It's hard for me to wake up early as I don't like going to bed early, and I don't know how other people get by with just at least 4 hours of sleep, but I just can't. I need at least 7 hours of sleep. Also I don't like waking up before the alarm goes off. Alarm clocks were invented for a reason, right? Let them do their jobs. Like this morning I woke up at 4:23AM and my alarm's set at 4:30. 7 precious minutes of sleep just went down the drain! I ended up resetting my alarm to 4:50AM and so I had to rush my bathing and all just to get to work at 6AM.

Each night before I go to sleep I keep telling myself to literally get up when my alarm goes off to not rush, but no matter how I coach myself I just don't have the willpower.

13 Things I Don't Like

#13ThingsIHate

I saw this as a trending topic on twitter so I've decided to make my own list here on blogger. Hate is a big word so I'm going to rename my list as 13 Things That I don't Like. I'm going to write a post for each of the thirteen things that I don't like.

#1 Peanut Butter

Peanut butter may be the most favorite spread but not for me. I don't like the taste and smell of peanut butter, I know I'm weird, and I may be the only person in the world who doesn't like it but I just can't stand it. I'm sorry. Maybe something happened between me and the peanut butter in my past life so we're now destined to not like each other.

I remember when my brother and I were kids and my mom would bring out peanut butter on the table because it's my brother's favorite and the moment my mom opens the jar I will wrinkle my nose and immediately my stomach will churn and I bet you a grand that in less than a minute I will start throwing up.

You can't say that I didn't try to like it because I did, a lot of times. I wanted to be like my brother and friends that love peanut butter more than anything in the world but as you now know, I failed. Big time.

With this post you may think I'm the shallowest person on earth. You ask this lady for a list of the things she doesn't like and the first thing that comes to her mind is peanut butter. I know this isn't the kind of things you expect on top of someone's list but you must know I am me. Weird. And I deviate. Anything but ordinary.

It's Kind of a Funny/Stupid Story

I went out of the office this morning to grab some breakfast, I got myself a cream cheese bagel and a strawberry and kiwi tea. I don't know what got into me but I just spaced out while the guy was preparing my bagel. Staring at nothing. And then I noticed the guy behind the counter telling me something, I didn't really get what he was saying but I think he was trying to do some up-selling, wanting me to buy an egg pie. Since I already had my bagel I simply declined by shaking my head. And he had this confused look! That's when I realized that I was being stupid and he wasn't asking me to buy some stupid egg pies! He was telling me that my bill was eight-five! To save myself from more humiliation I told him to wait for I am still thinking of getting something else. So I ended up buying a chocolate muffin. Hahaha! Next time I need to focus when getting breakfast so I won't end up buying some more.

PS This isn't the first time that something like this happened. It already happened before, I was at the counter paying for the stuff I bought from ZARA and then I spaced out again and the lady on the counter asked me if I bought 5 items and I just nodded when in fact I only got three items: 2 tops and a pair of jeans. So I ended up paying for 2 more tops (which I didn't choose by the way, good thing they're my size).

Obsessing.

April is over but I am still not over obsessing on what or where my life should lead. I am nowhere near in getting answers to my questions. They say it's normal to feel this way when you're at this age, it's the age where you want so many things to happen. But no matter how hard you've worked for it, sometimes it just don't work out the way you've planned. I've accepted that it's normal but it just sucks. And it gets really frustrating at times.

I am not a planner but it doesn't mean that I don't have plans for my life, because I do. I just don't write it on paper or draw my own time table but I still want to accomplish some things at certain points of my life. And at this certain point, I have certain things that I wanted to accomplish but unfortunately, I am nowhere near. But it doesn't mean that I am giving up, I'll keep on trying. Because I know that I am going to regret this someday if I didn't give it more than a shot.

So I have to log off now and get back to obsessing.

Happy Birthday!

Today's my birthday and I've been looking forward to this day for months. Not because I get to have presents, but I'm actually looking forward about getting older. Don't ask me why because I'm also asking myself the same question. Believe me this is only the third time that I got really excited for my birthday, not counting of course the birthdays I had before my teenage years. Those birthday parties were tantrums induced and I was always on sugar high and was being a nosy brat.

Anyway, the first time that I got this excited for my birthday was when I turned 18. Who doesn't? Every teenager dreams of turning 18, and every eighteen year old thinks that when you're 18 you can do anything. Including but not limited to: 1) legally get drunk 2) watch R18 movies unaccompanied 3) get married but with parents' consent 5) get a driver's license 6) get a job 7) but also do time in jail if you do anything stupid or heinous as juvy is no longer for you "GROWN-UP". Sounds interesting, right?

The second time was when I turned 21. It was like graduating from being a probationary adult to a full-fledged grown-up. Being 21 is just like turning 18 but with full benefits! You can now get married without your parents' consent. Not like we planned on getting hitched before 21, but who knows right? You might be walking in the street one day and you bump into a really hot guy and for some reasons he asks you to marry him. It'll be awkward if you go on like this "yes, I'll marry you but can we please go to my parents' and ask them if they'll let me?" but if you're already 21 you can automatically say yes with an exclamation point and a smiley. Hahaha! Not so grown up if you ask me, but see my point?

Those two birthdays are like milestones, rite of passage but being at this age (I won't tell, it's for you to figure out) I can't find a reason what I'm so excited about. But who cares, I'm excited and happy that's what matters to me.

Happy birthday to me! And also to my buds Conan O'Brien and America Ferrera. *wishful thinking

PS I just came from a graveyard shift when the pic was taken and I haven't slept at all.

Baby and Friends

My closest buds here in the office are teasing me, they say that they would like to see the day when I have my first baby.

And while watching one of my fave TV shows, their conversation kind of remind me of my office buds.

Monica: He hates me! My nephew hates me! What if my own baby hates me? What am I gonna do then?

Chandler: Monica, will you stop? This is nuts! Do you know how long it's gonna be before you actually have to deal with this problem? I mean you don't even have a boyfriend yet.

Ouch but hahaha!

Me watching Friends again. :-)

It's about time

It's not April yet but I already got my first birthday present this year! When I got home from my Cebu trip last Saturday this little canister was waiting for me, it's from my brother. When he handed me the present it was wrapped in a National Bookstore bag, and he asked me to guess and I just couldn't make out what's inside the bag. I was excited and a bit disappointed. I didn't know what to feel, I kept racking my brains of what would be a nice present from National Bookstore that isn't a book, I thought of a pencil case but it's just way too small to fit even half of a pencil. And what will I do of a pencil case if ever it was a pencil case?

I studied the canister and that's when I saw the logo.

I hurriedly opened the canister, I think I almost ripped it off because I got really excited.

It's a watch! If you've met me you'll know that I'm not a watch person, I only wore one when I was in first grade when I just learned how to tell time. I need one to show off to my friends that I am capable of telling time. And when I was in high school when Baby G was a very big hit, and you'll look like a sore looser if you don't own one.

Anyway, my brother is also the same, he don't wear a watch. But he said that it's about time that we started wearing one.

I so love it kuya! The following day I had it fitted to my wrist and started wearing it.

C for Cebu

Hey everyone, summer's here, or is it? Summer or not I already had my little summer getaway. Though it didn't turn out the way I planned but it's still so worth it. I went to Cebu last week to bring my friend's stuff, I was sort of like the FedEx guy, only I stayed a little longer, ate the recipient's food and slept on her bed for a few nights. Haha. Did I mention that she also paid for my airfare? Lucky me! But thinking about it now, and you reading further you'll know that I'm not that lucky.

Anyway, my trip started on the wrong foot. I was certain I booked a 9PM flight to Cebu, but just a few days before my trip I found out that I booked a 4AM flight. If I didn't check it when I did I could have missed my flight and just stayed home, sulking in my room for 5 days for being utterly stupid. Anyway, I got to Cebu earlier than I've planned but it's all good. I spent my first day in Cebu in bed, sleeping. The only time I got out of bed was when I had to pee and when my friend dragged me out of bed to have dinner out. The second day I went to meet my father's brother and his family, they are all so warm, I love them! I got to meet my 2 cousins again and I got to meet their youngest for the first time. My cousin and my aunt showed me around the city.

The third day we were supposed to head to Bantayan island. But Cebu's weather wasn't so cooperative, it rained almost everyday that I was there, except for the first day when all I did was sleep. Anyway, so my beach-y plan was cancelled. But it's still ok, I had a great time with friends from home, and from college. Also I got to meet 2 new friends: Alexa a fashion blogger from Cebu and Hadie, my brother. Seriously, he's my friend's nephew but he's like my friend's son, and that same friend was and still my 'mom' from way back in college. Do I make sense to you?

If you ask me what I really did in Cebu, there're only two words: sleep and eat. It was a getaway for the lazies, hey that's me! Well, I think most of my trips are just spent sleeping in in hotels, my family and friends can attest to that.  And you don't even have to bribe them for them to spill that. That's just my kind of vacation. But sometimes I think that I'm being so overly lazy, I spend most of my weekends sleeping and when I take a break away from work, sleeping is still what I do.

If I had to rate my Cebu trip from 1 - 5, 5 as the highest I'd give it a 5! It was perfect the way it was. And if you ask me what I like and didn't like about Cebu, I'd say it's food and food. I like the food because it's so yummy (just the thought of it makes me drool now) and very inexpensive. And it's also the thing that I don't like about Cebu, because the food is really good and inexpensive you tend to forget about your diet and just give in to your tummy's desire. And all your hard work and discipline just go down the drain. But it's all so worth it.

I'll see you again Cebu, soon I hope.

I'll upload the pics soon, I misplaced my data cable and card reader is busted. :-)

Nikita

I have a new addiction. No it's not drugs. It's a not so new TV series called Nikita. I've seen the plugs of this show a thousand times while I watch my other teen drama addiction (Gossip Girl), I've been meaning to watch this show since it started late last year. But I didn't get to until just a week ago.

What I love about this show is that it's not a typical CW series. Yes, I watched almost all shows at CW, it's either I'm addicted to the network or I just have too much time to kill. Anyway, it's a kick-ass series, literally. The lead characters get to kick asses on a daily basis. Plus, the main character is a gorgeous woman, Maggie Q. And yes, she's one of my girl crushes, I'm even jealous that Lyndsy Fonseca who plays Alex gets to work with her. Hahaha! I'm such a typical fan. Don't get me wrong I don't hate Lyndsy, in fact I like her. I'm just plain jealous. She gets to work not just with Maggie but also my biggest high school crush Shane West. Who could ever forget Landon Carter from A Walk To Remember?

The plot of the series is easy to follow, I think. Nikita was an agent of Division, a secret organization of the US government, so secret that you think they don;t exist. Yet they are very powerful, that they think they're gods who are capable of taking a life in a push of a button. Literally. I don't want to give some spoilers, just watch the show and you'll know why.

The gorgeous Maggie Q as Nikita

I just can't help myself but post 2 pictures of her. :-)

Lyndsey Fonseca as Alex

Shane West as Michael ♥

Ashton Holmes as Thom (too bad they killed him)

And Devon Sawa (remember Casper?) as one of Division's guardians

Also Melinda Clarke or better known as Julie Cooper from The OC also stars here. She's still a bitch, but she's the bitch that I love. Hahaha.

I'm just a little sad that I already finished all the 16 episodes and now CW series have all gone on a hiatus till next month. And you know how I feel about waiting. Anyway, guess I have no choice but to be patient.

Watch the pilot episode and you'll get hooked! Don't say I didn't warn you. :-)

Katie for Kamiseta

It's been weeks since I had my last post. I know I promised to blog often but again and again I fail. I suck. I know. I haven't been busy with anything, just the usual home-work-home routine. And because of that, there's nothing bloggable, everyday is just the same. Uneventful. And to prove that, I even have the same playlist playing for a week now, just 3 songs playing on the loop. In case you ask, these 3 songs are 1) I Won't Give Up by Jana Kramer 2) Broken Strings by James Morison and Nelly Furtado and 3) Only One by Alex Band. I know what you're all thinking "GET A LIFE". And just so you know, I AM TRYING TO! I just get sidetracked sometimes, by my bed. And you know how hard that is. Right?

Anyway, I was bloghopping today and I found that Katie Holmes is the new face of Kamiseta. I've been a fan of the clothing line way before Alicia Silverstone became their endorser, so I was intrigued. I saw the photos and I must say that they made a good job making Katie look fresh and younger, much like her character Joey Potter on the defunct show Dawson's Creek. I know you don't live under a rock if you're reading my blog now, so I'm assuming that you've seen the way Katie dresses up, she's a high end fashionista, she's got a real expensive closet, a walk-in closet or house for that matter. And her daughter Suri's got 100x more expensive closet than I or most of us do. So I really am intrigued why she accepted the job, it's not like she's short on money because SHE'S TOM CRUISE'S EFFING WIFE!!! No, I'm not yelling, just trying to make a point here.

I'm too tired to think of reasons why she accepted the stint, so I'll just post the pictures.

And FYI I like the shots. So unlike Katie the uptight, alpha female dresser.

Most Productive Week So Far

It's a Friday and I only slept for about 4 hours. It's not that I had to do some actual stuff, I just couldn't sleep. Maybe because I am so excited for my rest days since I've been working for 8 days straight or maybe sleep decided that it's a Friday so it's taking a day off too!

It doesn't really matter if I had enough sleep or not, I had more than enough he past few days, I am averaging at least 9 hours a day. Also I must say that this week has been the most productive week of 2011 so far, either at work or at home. I can't even believe myself! I really stepped up! Well, I hope I'll be able to top this epic week. :-)

Indeed it's a productive week but still there are some things that I want to get done before the week officially ends. And here are those:

  1. Wake up at 10:30AM tomorrow.
  2. Finish the book that I'm reading, just a few more chapters to go.
  3. Find the perfect white skinnies!
  4. Get my nails done.
  5. Update my resumé (just for kicks)
  6. Buy the tray and storage bokex that I've been meaning to get for my room.
  7. De-clutter  my closet/room.
  8. Finish my portfolio.
Well, I really hope I can accomplish at least half of this list. Especially number 1 and 4. :-)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Facebook Post Reposted

Reposting some mushy stuff... I found this post on Facebook by a friend who posted it to another friend's wall. ☺

Have you ever found yourself WAITING around for a man?
Waiting for him to call, waiting for him to say he loves you,
waiting for him to book you up on a Saturday night,
waiting for a lifetime commitment?

If you've ever felt desperate at that moment,
absolutely helpless, you're not alone.
Some of us have waited evenings,

watching television and hoping a man would call.
Some of us have waited years for the engagement ring to show up.
So, how long is too long to wait for a commitment from a man?

I gave up waiting many years back. I spent almost half of my life waiting, either for something or someone. And it was exhausting and excruciating. So I swore that I would never play the waiting game again. But surprise! Surprise! Here I am, back in the game, even playing forward! I just never learn. I know waiting doesn't always guarantee a happy ending, and often times it's quite the opposite of the big Hollywood movie ending that you kept playing in your head. But even though, we still wait. I think it's human nature, holding on to even the tiniest thread of hope. I just hope that something good will come out of this. But if not, hey this is a waiting game remember? I'm playing it and definitely I'm a sport! (I think ☺) And maybe someday when I replay this game, I can just have a good laugh about it.

I'm definitely playing and will be giving it my best shot. Go Team! Hahaha!

To the spectators: Please don't expect too much from this game, it's the first time that I'm playing again after a very serious injury that ended in the emergency room straight to ICU.  So please cut me some slack. *wink*

Fullybooked!

It's just a week after the new year started but I already have a Christmas wish for 2011! It's very early for a Christmas wishlist but then again, I believe in the saying "don't wait for tomorrow what you can do for today". Hahaha! So, I'm getting started really (extra!) early (redundant). :-)

We were at Fully Booked at Bonifacio High Street last Wednesday after I went to the hospital (which by the way is a different story). And we spent most of the time at the book store, it's my favorite place in BGC. I drooled over a lot of books! Yes, books make me drool, as well as clothes and accessories and a lot of other stuff. I read a few books and finished it all! 4 books to be exact. And no, I didn't spend days there just to read the 4 books, the books I'm talking about are tiny books, booklets? Whatever you call it, it only contains hundred pages max.

I so love going the bookstore especially when I have book-loving friends as company. And for this I want a library as big as Fullybooked BGC! Wishful thinking! I'm getting way over my head again.

1/1/11

It's officially the new year! It's the day of many firsts today, first day of the decade, year, and month: 1/1/11! I'm not really sure what to expect this year or the rest of this new decade. All I know is that I'm going to live it, period. I'm not really big on planning, or anything on that matter because I'm the worst when it comes to time management. I know I'm getting very redundant because I already posted my "new year" entry, its just that I feel like blogging today, only I have no idea what I'm going to say. Like it's the first time to ever happen (*rolls eyes), most of my posts here are just words salad. I think, and I spew words all over this little thing called blog. That's just the way I ran this blog ever since.

Anyway, I just thought about some old superstitions, they say that what you do on the new year's determines what the year will be for you. And with that I think I'm going to be celebrating for the rest of the year! We spent the night celebrating, we slept at 5AM this morning. We had a few drinks, played charades with my cousins, did karaoke and just exchanged old jokes that ironically never ran old. In short, we had the greatest time. So great that it doesn't bother me even if I only slept for 3 hours. Maybe the saying is true, that you don't feel tired when you love what you're doing and for me it's spending time with family.

I hope you all had a great new year's eve like I did and I still do. And I also hope that all of you are well, no accidents or whatsoever.

Happy new year from my family.

A Brand New Year 2011

This is it! 2010 finally reached its end. So long 2010, and hello 2011. But before we officially move on to the new year, (people from this part of the planet, we still have 18 hours left) I want to look back on how the year has been to me. No great milestones as you can obviously see I didn't get married, got myself pregnant or arrested. ☺

2010 generally speaking is quite an easy year for me. I got almost everything that I wanted, and I'm only strictly speaking of material things. And I even had the whole summer off from work. I made  a lot of new friends this year, but sadly I also got rid of few of the old ones. Honestly, I never wanted them out of my life but given the circumstances, I think I'm better off. Also I made it out of an almost-relationship unscathed. I also visited places that I've never been before in my entire life. And this year I only got myself drunk twice. Wait. Is that really worth blogging? Moving on. I'd like to think that I got past my hemophobia (extreme and irrational fear of blood) by watching some TV series, but maybe because I always tell myself that those aren't real. But still, it's a step. Also this year I haven't gone into more than 2 ankle accidents, which I had 6 last 2009. I have very weak ankles you know. And I also visited my family in the province this year.

I know I've been blogging about leaving my job hundreds of times but look at me, still here, hanging on. I won't think about quitting anytime soon, but I'll know when the time is right. Also they said that new year is the time for resolutions but I stopped making one a few years back since I always end up not doing them at all. So all I want to do this 2011 is live each day to the fullest. My mantra is "live like there's no tomorrow", (yes, I know that's a Selena song just zip it) and let's see where that line would get me. Hope not in the delivery room or worst the Police station.

Have a happy new year everyone! Only positivity for 2011!

PS stay safe on new year's eve. You don't want to be a limb less this 2011, do you? ☺

Past Life Relived

I read about past life regression yesterday while browsing through the blogs that I subscribed to, my sleeping interest and intrigue on the subject was instantaneously awakened. I remember watching a movie when I was a kid, I don't recall the title of the film but I know it involves regression and hypnosis of the protagonist. Also, there was this Charmed episode where the three sisters had to relive their past lives.

I haven't had any regression session or whatsoever you call that process. But I forced myself to believe that I know what my past life was.

I was a female warrior, somewhere in South America, I was one hell of a warrior. I was trained by my father who won a lot of battles for our tribe. Don't get the wrong impression, I'm not one of those who believed that they-were-princesses-in-their-past-lives crap. I was just a daughter of a tribe defender, of a great soldier and my mother was a healer, who runs her own apothecary.

I was born in a big family, I had 5 siblings, and I was the youngest. (I always like being the youngest of the family) When I reached 16 I joined the army, and fought for our tribe with my life. Everyone said that I had the skills of my father and charms of my mother, it was the perfect combination. When I turned 20, the chief of our tribe appointed me to be one of the commanders of the army.

Then one day we were camping out at the shores of what is now known as Säo Paulo, preparing for a battle with another tribe who threatened to eat us alive if we don't give them our lands.

While I was out of camp, hunting for some game for lunch, I didn't notice that I wandered deep down to the forest. I was so absorbed in the beauty of the rainforest. The folliages, the pretty flowers in every color you could imagine, the trees that seemed like their branches were about to break due to the abundance of fruits, the sound of the birds singing and the most majestic waterfalls I've ever seen in my entire life. I felt like I was in paradise.

Every morning I made my way to the forest. Nobody ever asked where I was or have been since I always went at crack of dawn so no one would notice and went back to camp before noon. I had the same routine for more than a couple of weeks as we always camped a little over a month in one place. Then there was this one time when I went to the forest and just about to dip at the falls, I heard something, a crack of a branch. I automatically readied my spear, aiming at where the sound came from. I was ready to throw when a crying boy appeared and pleaded me not to hurt him. He looked harmless, he was a little boy, about 10. He said his name was Diego, and he was lost. We talked for a while until we heard someone calling out his name. He said it was his older brother, Leon, probably looking for him.

The three of us met daily by the falls, and I've known that they were members of the tribe who were threatening us. But they were different and not barbaric like most of their tribe. Then one day, one of their tribesmen saw the three of us and told their chief that Leon was a traitor and they held Diego captive as punishment and he eventually died of starvation in captivity. Leon was so devastated that he ran away and went to our camp. My tribesmen didn't approve of him, as they thought that he was a spy. I told them that I am quitting my position as their commander if they don't trust my judgement. And so I quit, my father wasn't happy with my decision. He let me choose between my family and Leon. And I chose Leon. We ran away from our lands and never came back.

There goes my past life! I'm sorry if I'm being too hollywood with my story, I just wanted it to be epic, as opposed to the ho-hum life I'm living at this moment.

(And there goes the wasted two-hour company time)
